We step into the "do yourself a flavor" foray with Potato Chip World's first Lays review.
Positives
It's a pleasant tasting chip. The garlic flavor isn't too garlicky. Wavy potato chips have a tendency to taste stale, but that was not a problem. I like Lay's recent update to the "wavy" font.
Negatives
You could blindfold me and feed me this chip, and 100 times out of 100 I wouldn't guess Garlic was the driving flavor. Yes, it's a pleasant garlic flavor. But I would've guessed Garlic and Parmesean, or Garlic Bread.
Questions
Isn't listing Salt as a potato chip flavor a cop out? Every potato chip has salt. Unless it's the most unique salt in the world, and that's the dominant flavor, it gets lost in the chip.
Verdict
I wouldn't vote for this chip to win a million dollars. I wouldn't go out of my way to purchase these chips, but I would eat them if they were presented to me at a guest's house.
